I attend a good university and have been studying engineering. However, over the past years I tried to force myself to keep on going to study something I absolutely hate. I did this to please my family members and partly for my self esteem from relatives who think highly of the school and major. Well, the time has come and I have to live my life and have decided to quit and pursue something else such as design or architecture at a community college for a few years and then transfer to a better school. This is a huge change, but if I stay with engineering I'll regret my whole life because I'd be miserable working as an engineer.

Am I making the right decision??

Absolutely, you should follow your heart. If your relatives truly care for you, they will support you in being an individual. If you were to continue to please them, you would become one of those people who are miserable and full of regrets.
I tip my hat to you for having the foresight to know you need to go in the direction of design etc. That takes courage and insight, and you have both!

You are without a doubt making the right decision. Going after something you're passionate about as opposed to something being "forced" upon you will raise your happiness level ten fold. You'd do a better job at something that you enjoy as opposed to something you're just doing to please other people. It might take your family a little while to get used to it, but if they really care about your happiness then they will support you in whatever you want to do with your life. Don't be scared to take the less beaten path and do things your own way. Best of luck to you!

Your make your own decision by first pulling away; once alone get out a sheet of paper and list the pros and the cons of what you'd really want to do. Bottom line is you have to know what you want and go for it. Those people may not be happy but then again it isn't their life we are talking about.

such issues as abortion and prostitution are regulated because, frankly, some human beings do not have any consciences. If abortion were outlawed, case in point, unscrupulous human beings can provide women human beings risky abortions that could want to damage them for existence and/or kill them. Prostitution is prohibited, a minimum of partly, because the girls human beings and little ones that are used to fulfill adult men's sexual urges are dealt with very badly. they're oftentimes no longer on the line having sex with strangers because they want to be. they're compelled into those situations by ability of economics, drug habit, fraudulent immigration gives you, and so on.they're slaves. some regulations are to guard susceptible human beings from unscrupulous human beings.

With your engineering background, architecture would be very appealling. And probably an easy sell, too.

If you live a life that others have chosen, you shall never live the life of misery. Live your life as if it were yours, and live the life of contentment. There is no way to predict that your choice will lead to happiness, but be content that your choices were yours.
