Walking is a great exercise to do while you're pregnant. Swimming is also highly recommended (especially later in pregnancy - it's great to feel weightless even only for a short time!)

there are also tons of workout videos out there - try Shiva Rhea's prenatal yoga and Lisa Hart's prenatal workout routine (both avaiable through amazon.com)

This is what happened with me. I'm at least 25 pounds overweight, and my doc advised me to only gain 20 pounds while pregnant. Instead of aiming to lose pounds, he said, I should just aim to lose fat and not gain any more. So I've been eating MUCH more healthily, as in fruits, veggies, milk, juice, chicken, salad, etc instead of fast food and junk food. I've been watching my calorie intake (you only need 300 extra calories for baby in the second and third trimester, less in the first, so 2100 is a healthy amount during the first trimester, though you may need to step it up to 2300 or so later on) and only eating when I really am hungry rather than bored or craving something. Plus, I'm only drinking water, milk, and fruit juice...mostly water. I'm also walking for about 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, because light exercise is best. I also use this pregnancy workout DVD I found at Wal-Mart...but mostly I walk because I prefer the outdoors.

After ALL that, I'm now almost 13 weeks, and I've actually lost 8 pounds since I got pregnant, and I know all of it is fat. Baby is healthy and I'm healthy, and my doc is really happy with this progress. Although I didn't aim to lose weight, it's so early on in the pregnancy that he says it's okay to lose a few pounds (8 lbs over 3 months really isn't drastic), as long as I don't continue to lose in the next 2 trimesters. I feel much healthier than I was before I was pregnant, and I'm even fitting into some jeans that wouldn't go over my thighs pre-pregnancy.

So you can do it! Just don't aim to move the scale but to see a difference in the fat content of your body. If I can do it, anyone can...because I love Taco Bell and doughnuts! Good luck!

You can not lose weight DURING pregnancy, but you can keep yourself from gaining too much.
Walking works the best for me. Check out fitpregnancy.com, it's a great place to get started.
There is also water aerobics for Mommy-to-be's and yoga, those are also great.
I walk about 30-40 minutes per day, 5-6 nights per week, and I've not gained very much weight.
Also, eat right!!!

Pregnancy is not the time to lose weight or diet. Walking can help keep you energized while you are pregnant, but I wouldn't be trying to lose weight at this point.
