I wouldn't suggest any of those businesses where you need to give them a bunch of your money to then make money. It might not seem like a lot of work, but its more than you'd imagine. My father still complains about the garage full of Avon my mother has since 10 years.
In my opinion the best way to get extra money is to not spend money you don't have. It all starts with small savings that add up to more flexibility. Once you can cut your expenses and save a few bucks, even if it is just a symbolic amount like a few hundred dollars. You realize that you can save more, and you build on that principle. Cut back on what you can. If you don't absolutely need it, don't buy it.
The basic principle of becoming financially secure is that. And then you can make even more money with the money you save.

I'm not sure there is much profit in Avon I guess it depends on your clientele and what they are looking for what type of people are you around the most work church etc.
My Mary Kay director sold Avon for years and didn't make much with Mary Kay she quit her full time job.
I worked full time at a large finacial corporation before Mary Kay when I first started I was able to get a lot of sales from people there and people they new and so on. great repeat buiness. I quit last Nov and I am now home with my children.

I never knew anyone who made money selling avon....it was more to get the discounts and free products.
Why dont you try selling stuff on ebay? I sell all sorts of...crap...used books, junk from garage sales, people will buy just about anything and everything. I make about 50 to 100+ a week, depending on how much stuff I put on there.
I found a dining room table in the alley, out in the garbage. I dragged it into my garage, wiped it down, took a picture, wrote a description and voila, some dork paid me 300$ for it. I didn't say anything about age or antique, made no pretensions--he knew what he wanted and he was happy to get it.

That is one good way but don't you have to get out and see people to sell it? If you are too tired to do that, try writing articles or blogging. Here is a couple of links that may help you with some information.

This company are still in pre-launch so I don’t know whether they really pay. But since it’s free to join, so you have absolutely nothing to lose. The overall concept is good and makes sense.

If you can tutor kids math that pays well and isn't very hard. Or you could teach rollerblading or something like that. Those are the things my city friends do to make extra money.

Do you have a bunch of junk you don't want anymore, hidden deep in your attic? Try selling that stuff on ebay. You'd probably make a bundle if you sell a number of nice items.
