How long before can you drink alcohol before a Laparoscopy? I am going next Monday.

You should fast 8 or more hours prior to surgery
Preferably fast and keep your tummy empty from midnight the night before (Sunday Night)
That's should be plenty of time for alcohol to be gotten rid of from your system too.

I wouldn't drink for a week before. Anesthesia is hard on the brain and also on the liver. You probably need to refrain from drinking afterwards, too. Ask the anesthesiologist this question when he visits you prior to the procedure. Good luck.

For non-alcoholic drinks, the standard protocol is nothing after midnight on the day of the test, for alcohol, it may be longer due to the possibility of blood thinning/interaction with medications. Check with your doctor.
