im starting high school next year and my mom said that if i wanted to i could go by my middle name.
i hate my first name sarah and i love my middle name elizabeth. what should i do?

If you honestly don't like to be called Sarah, then you can ask people to call you Elizabeth.
However, be prepared for people that already know to you want to call you Sarah, that's what they know you as, it may take them a while to adjust.

go by Elizabeth, but have people start calling you that before you start class. You don't want the teacher to be calling Elizabeth and you not answer b/c your used to being called Sarah. That wouldn't make a very good impression :) Also be prepared to tell everyone for the rest of your life that you are called Elizabeth b/c all official documents will say Sarah. It can be quite annoying.

Well just remember it could hurt your momma's feelings and then everyone is gonna gossip about why you changed your name.
I know a girl who started going by her middle name and everyone said she did it because she was trashy and had a bad reputation. They said she didn't want people to find out about her past.
I know two girls named Sarah Elizabeth and both of them so by Sarah.

it's your choice, but remember the Sarah part will never go away in high school. All attendance list, school year books etc will have Sarah, not Elizabeth. But your friends can call you whatever you like. I like Sarah better personally, but it's your call.

Sarah! or should I say Elizabeth!!! Honey, "Go for what you know", meaning, if you want to be called Elizabeth, then go by that name. I t would't matter if you wanted to be called "Apple Head", whatever you want to go by is what you want to go by. Trust me, you will have a hell of alot more to worry about in hgih school, than what people call you. High school was one of the hardest transitions in my life. Not becasue of academics, but becasue of the social scene and how hard it is to stay in the"mix".So girl, get it together cuz if you are sensitive just about choosing the name you want to go by, then you are gonnan have a hard time...However, Good Luck!!!!!!!

I like the name Sarah but if u want to go by your middle name that is cool to! I think its cool also that your Mom is OK with it so if i was you id do it, but maybe you friends still call you what they always do so maybe it be hard to change. But g/l anyways!

i did the same thing but found that i would not answer to my middle name. Sarah is a lovely name! but so is your middle name just go by what makes you comfortable!

You can if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it. My name is ELizabeth, and I'm in high school, and I hate it.. A lot of my teachers call me Liz, too, for short, which is even worse.
It'll be confusing though, for you and you're friends.
But if you really want to, go right ahead.

both are beautiful, remember if you go by elizabeth... there are some people that are bound to call you Liz, or Beth for short, even if you ask them not to., theres nothing short for, Sarah.

Elizabeth will turn to lizzy or liz by your frineds and enemies. Sarah is great!
