I had an interview this afternoon which I think went pretty well. I am a student and the position was for 30 hours per week. The woman I interview with said she wouldn't want to see me drop down to part time in school, and she might be able to work something out so that I could work just weekends (16 hrs). She asked if that was something I might be interested and I told her I definitely was. She had me meet some one other employee (who is in the same position I applied for) and then at the end of the interview she told me to give her a call in a couple of days if I was interested in the weekend position. My questions are: should I wait 2 days, or just call her tomorrow and should I send her a thank you email? If I send her the email should I also call her, or just do one or the other?

Hi, I'm in HR. I think you should call her tomorrow. She asked you to call not email, which is interesting, it would be much harder for her to turn you down in person, on the phone. You don't want to wait and not look interested, no matter what she said. She probably needs time to work things out, but that's ok, she can know ahead of time that you really want it.

Send her the "thank you" E-mail, and tell her that you will definitely call her in a couple of days about the position.
