This is a 12-man Head to Head league. This was a LIVE draft held and I got #3 pick. Haha it was kinda cool because I got Johan Santana at 3rd pick. The first picker was so stupid he picked A-Rod. HA! So then the 2nd picker got Pujols and I got Santana!

What do you think about my team? Rate my overall team 1-10, and then a separate rating for batting and pitching.

These are my opinions on these players:

Jorge Posada is going to be a huge upset this year, he is not going to put up above average numbers batting and he aint fast.

Well I just have to pray that Justin Morneau duplicates last year's AL MVP season this year also.

Freddy Sanchez is a good overall second-baseman considering the fact that 2Bmen are shallow this year and Freddy won last year's NL Batting crown.

Hank Blalock is okay not too shabby not too great but the only reason I chose him was that it was late into the draft and he was the best available 3Bman.

I don't even know why I chose Edger Renteria. I think I might've chosen him in one of the last rounds. He is a lazy bum who can't do anything good so I might as well get rid of the guy using the waiver wire.

Johnny Damon and Torii Hunter are pretty smooth outfielders who are both fast and can put up good numbers at batting. Melky Cabrera is fast and might start now that Bobby Abreu is injured for a while.

Well my utility man will excel this year but not at this position so I don't know why I put him there. I am going to remove him immediately.

My bench is horrible and I know it so I have absolutely positively no commetn whatsoever on my bench and you shouldn't comment on it either. Don't waste your time!

No comment whatsoever on Johan Santana but in this case that being a positive thing. Johan Santana has been proven to be the best pitcher in the current MLB. Then there is Roy Oswalt. Through the Astros' offense, he might not get that many wins this year, but he is still going to excel at pitching.

Well, in the draft first I wanted Joe Nathan as my RP. Taken. Then I wanted K-Rod. Taken. Then I wanted Mariano Rivera. Taken. When it finally became my turn, I had to choose the #4 RP, BJ Ryan. Joel Zumaya is going to be the closer for the Tigers this year so I'll be able to get a couple lot of saves off of the guy. If put at full potential, he'd be an amazing pitcher, no doubt.

I'd consider that I have a solid "Pitchers." Barry Zito and Adam Wainwright are going to learn from their mistakes and Andy Pettitte will make an easy 15+ wins.

My bench once again sucks. I don't know why I took Mark Prior, I think I chose him last round. His fastball this year is proven be only about 86 mph tops. I am going to get rid of him immediately through the waiver wire. Anibal Sanchez is an okay pitcher, but I am terribly worried about his Wins, ERA, and K's going down.

lets see.
hitting: 7
pitching: 9
bench: 7

hitting: you've pretty much got everything covered, statistically. your good on steals, plenty of power with morneau and hunter. AVG with melky, damon, and sanchez. your bench could use some help. hillenbrand is up and down. look for a younger guy to back up blalock

pitching: you've got one of the better pitching groups ive seen. not sure how prior is gonna do. wainwright is gonna have a solid year. you might wanna look for one more option at RP. maybe look for mike gonzalez. he's gonna take bob wickman's spot at some point in time. bobby cox wont stand for wickman's way of pitching.

overall ill give your team an 8. looks good!! good luck

Posada, Giambi - Even if they play poorly, they're in one of the best lineups in baseball. Look for high RBI numbers.

Morneau - Don't think he can repeat last year's numbers, but it's not totally out-of-the question.

Sanchez - Good pick, most teams won't get much out of their 2nd baseman (unless they have Utley).

Blalock - If Texieira has a good year, Blalock will see a lot of good pitches.

Renteria - He'll do alright (see Posada explanation)

Hunter, Damon - Solid guys. They'll hit a few dingers and swipe a few bases... watch Hunter's avg.

Cabrera - Try to find a guy who is "locked" into a lineup.

Bench needs work. Hillenbrand doesn't have a guaranteed job. Giles numbers really dipped last year. Loretta is trade bait for you.

Santana, Oswalt - Great

Ryan, Zumaya - Great, especailly if Zumaya takes Jones' job

Pettite, Zito, Wainwright - All will need to adjust.. Pettite less than the other two. Zito has a new delivery... watch this one. Wainwright as a SP also worth monitoring.

Bench - Prior = not good...

Offense - 6
Pitching - 8
Bench - 4 (but it's your bench... so don't worry too much about it)

Batting: 6
Pitching: 8.5
Overall: 7.5 (this will go up if you're actively watching the closer market).

C: Jorge Posada--getting old...not the threat he used to be
1B: Justin Morneau--great year last year...let's see him repeat it
2B: Freddy Sanchez--great year last year...watch for a regression towards the mean
3B: Hank Blalock--who knows if he'll ever bounce back
SS: Edger Renteria--Solid, in a good line-up...won't ever be as good as he was in STL
OF: Torii Hunter--Acutally under-rated in fantasy...his defense is so good, that people forget he's very dangerous with the bat too
OF: Johnny Damon---Good, but getting old...good for R, BA, and steals
OF: Melky Cabrera--Not even starting...play Giles instead
Util: Jason Giambi--He'll still provide power, even in if the avg is no longer there
Bn: Brian Giles--Good...not what he used to be
Bn: Shea Hillenbrand--You can probably find better in free agency
Bn: Mark Loretta--You can probably find better in free agency

SP: Johan Santana--Enough said!
SP: Roy Oswalt--2 top-5 pitchers!
RP: BJ Ryan--Best closer!
RP: Joel Zumaya--I'm not a fan of middle relievers despite Zumaya's K ability. Todd Jones stands in his way.
P: Andy Pettitte--We'll see what he does as a Yankee. A good spring training isn't enough for me to believe he'll be a sub-4.0 ERA guy
P: Barry Zito--Great pitcher. Hopefully the transition away from OAK will be better for him than it was for Mulder & Hudson
P: Adam Wainwright--Let's see what this kid does as a starter. Good flyer pick.
Bn: Mark Prior and some other guy too--Prior flat-out stinks. He'll either start the season in AAA or the DL. Hope for the DL.

What, you think you got lucky because Santana fell to #3. Just to let you know it is stupid to take Santana when you could have taken someone like Jose Reyes, Alfonso Soriano, or Carlos Beltran. You made a real dumb pick there. You should look for another 3baseman, maybe brandon inge or joe crede if no one drafted him. Your bench is horrible but you realize that. Some of your pitching is dicey. Prior most likely will not make the roster. Zumaya does not get the quality numbers and Wainwright is a question mark.

At catcher, pick up Ianetta off of waivers from the Rockies. He's in a decent lineup and he's a better prospect then McCann was. Not to mention, the Rockies cutting Javy Lopez shows that they are ready to say that he's the guy.

You're OF is weak. Melky's upside is very low for fantasy. He still has a ways to go to improve power, and he's not even starting. Blalock may be another dissappointment again this year.

Youre pitching is going to carry you. You are set there.

I would tell you all you need to know about this team but, your first mistake was taking Santana as your third pick. There are plenty of great pitchers you don't need the No. 1 overall. Besides pitchers only play every other 5 days were a positional player plays daily.

I'd say pitching 8 and the other two as 6s. Cabreara isnt very good to round out a 3 man outfield

Alex may have a huge year this year. sturdy success
