well that depends how you are making the acct. if your using a 2month free subscription on xbox original not until ur 2months are over, at the end of that 2month period it will automatically charge you 49.99 for a full year of xbox live. if you're making an acct. on a xbox 360 they will not charge anything to it even when the acct. subscription is over, the acct will automatically be changed to a silver membership, and you may at anytime turn it to a gold acct. by simply adding your credit card and it will charge it, you have 3 choices of amounts, you can have ur credit card charged monthly for 7.99 a month, every 3 months for 19.99, or one a year for 49.99.

Yes if you give the myour credit crd number, they will chrge you 50 dollars for a year. you can go to a game store and buy a xbox live card which is easier and safer than paying by your credit card.

If you are getting GOLD service, then they charge you per month.

SILVER accounts are free, but they use the CC if you buy Microsoft Points for use in Arcade or Marketplace.

there are different membership levels. i signed up for the basic free one, silver i think. i did not enter credit or other payment info. if you're entering credit info you probably selected gold or higher membership and will be charged, maybe after a free month or something...

they might desire to no longer be soliciting for a mastercard quantity. if you got your xbox stay card. except you attempt to purchase something on-line. as quickly as I made mine they did no longer ask for any sort of cost card. except you have unsuitable the credit quantity they're asking, for the xbox stay card you got.

that happened with me. i think they do that so if you play longer that time on your free xbox live card permits, they can charge your credit card.
