It happened this morning. My husband and I just got back from camping and we unloaded the car.We had our bicycles, camping gear and a really nice cooler sitting by the garage next to the garbage cans.Went in the house for a few minutes, came back and it was all gone.I tried calling the city, but no one answered.Does anyone know if I might be able to get this stuff back?

Good luck. You would think those guys would know that stuff wasn't garbage.

Are you sure the garbage people took it and it was not stolen? You might want to file a police report on it. Check with the police.

Also, check with the rules about garbage. If something is within so many feet of a trashcan can the garbage collector treat it as garbage. You may also need to go directly to the office of whoever controls the trash pickup and talk to someone directly. They may not answer their phonecalls on a regular basis.

If it was good stuff, it will not end up in the dump. It will end up belonging to one or more of the garbage men.

Keep calling until you get an answer, also, call the Office of the Mayor, they may be able to give you a different number.

Your things are probably destroyed and put in the local garbage dump.

Wow, that stuff is long gone. Even if you called the garbage co., they would have no way to track it or find your items. You are probably kicking your self in the a**, but it's not too smart to put things next to your garbage that you don't want thrown out!

My mother was moving house and mistakenly put her wardrobe out for garbage. The only hope is to drive to Michigan and try to dig it out of the landfill. LOL!

It's a lost cause...go out and get new stuff you'll have a heck of a time retriveing it. You did put it by the garbage.....Not worth the stress...
