what are sterotypes?

what do u view as prep? punk? jock? emo? gangster? other? what sterotypes do you feel go along with such calssifactions? where do stereotypes come from? what fits you into a certain stereotype?

well some stereotypes about black people are that we are some agressive, fried chicken loving, basketball players. Some of that is true.

yea I'm black, 6'1 pretty tall and have an athletic body..so people always assume that I play basketball.
