I've read that if they dont have a companion they wont live as long. I play with her when I'm home but I dont know if it is enough.

YES....they are social animals anyways, you should have gotten 2 in the beginning, but it is good that you want to keep you pig happy, so YES again, you definately need to get her another friend, because lonlyness can cause depression, eventually killing you guinea pig
if you get her a companion, she will probably live a longer happier life

Yes. Guinea pigs are very social creatures and like to live in small groups. Stick with all females and they will do great. Have a couple of square feet per animal so they have room to spread out if they want to - room for eating and sleeping and playing. Have fun!

That's a very good question. I have a guinea pig and that is nonsense. Playing doesn't matter to how long it lives. It only keeps it happy. You should play with her about 30 minutes a day. Although they love to play with other guinea pigs very very much.

Yes you should get her a pal. Just make sure it's another female if you don't want a ton of babies. And supervise them to be sure they get along. And make sure their cage is big enough for the both of them. But you really do need to get her a friend. How would you feel if you were stuck in a cage all day with no one to interact with? Even though you play with her, it's not the same. You don't speak Guinea Pig, do you?

Yes. Definetly! Animals don't mind 3 or 4 hours alone but 10 hours is too much for them to be alone.

getting another guinea pig would probably keep your first guinea pig happier. if you want a lot more, get a male one :-P

If your out 10 hours a day you should leave out some food. Oh, and get her a friend when she gets older you don't want her mating at a young age!

Buy her a male guinea pig. My friend says guinea pig babies are really cute: infact she has two baby guinea pigs. And I think she'd feel a lot better.

yes, you should get her a friend. guinea pigs are social critters and without anything to socialize with, it will be very bored. make sure its new friend is compatible with it first though,as fighting is a poor form of entertainment.

If you get a male than she can have babies every 3 months but if you have 2 males than they are going to fight unless that they have been together for their whole life so yep get a girl.
