i think it proves my belief that not till one side dies will they unite, did you notice how he owes every one a phone call? its almost as if he doesn't feel that Kevin kalcovin or Berni ecclstone are worth his time, can some one please give this dude a bad case of aids so we can fix this wound he has opened in American open wheel racing? though i do admit id rather if f1 dropped indy and went back to long beach

I thought he had a valid point regarding his reasons for starting the IRL. There is a need for open wheel oval racing. I don't think he or Kalkhoven are interested in re-unification at this point though. I think they feel like re-unification would make it seem like they were admitting they were wrong, and both are too stubborn to do that. So, in the meantime, 19 cars will start IRL races and 15 (or 16) cars will start Champ Car races; and the Indy 500 will still beg every open wheel driver in the world to help fill the 33 car grid.

I thought he was very honest with his interview. He did not beat around the bush, and answered every question that was asked. I like the fact that he stood by his decision to split to keep open wheel racing on ovals, which is what I like to see anyway. Road races are just boring. Open wheel racing close together on ovals is dangerous, but these drivers are ten times more talented than Nascar drivers who beat and bang their way around a track. If these guys touch wheels, it isn't pretty. I say if you want open wheel racing on road courses, watch more Formula one.

Till the two groups get back to gether there will continue to be little interest in IRL\CART and even then it may be too late as NASCAR has filled the void while the bickering continued.
