is yahoo sexist?

I think that would be good idea. Why shouldn't guys have a category specifically for men's issues? I think it would be good because alot of men have difficulty talking about personal issues and I think it would be easier for them to do it on here anonymously. I think men would like to hear other men's views and opinions on personal things without some woman sticking her nose in it.

Or you could call it "Men's Issues." Yahoo! does have a set of Groups devoted to men's issues, so Yahoo! can't be completely sexist. It just hasn't caught on here, for some reason.

Go for it. All of you men who want one, request yahoo answers to have one. You should have it if you want it. It's a free country. I think it would be interesting to see what you guys wrote to understand the other sex better. Education and opening your mind up is always a good thing. It gets rid of racism, sexism, etc. GO FOR IT!!!!!

I'm seriously going to get a Men's Studies section up and running here. Just wait and see.

I think there was a petition that went to Yahoo requesting that 'Women's Studies' be changed to 'Gender Studies', but no word yet.

HTH : )

Women's Studies is an academic field. It's also known as Gender Studies. Men's Studies is not. So, no, Yahoo! is not sexist.

The reason is that both men and women (and their interrelationships) are studied in Women's Studies/Gender Studies. The name is typically Women's Studies because the emphasis is on women, who have historically been made invisible by sexism.

P.S. The goal of feminism is equality for the sexes. This means allowing men to discuss their feelings openly without fear of being seen as feminine.

Now that is a good question! Lets give them the benefit of the doubt and remember that men don't tend to talk about their feelings.

Dude I asked this VERY question a couple of weeks ago and it got deleted!

I did get some answers. Most of them dumb though.

It's totally ignorant to think that men don't have valid points to discuss. (And history is not enough, duh.) Why do we have men's groups at churches if we don't have anything to discuss?

Dav, you know that's not true. Men talk about our feelings, just not in a girly way and never in the company of women.

If you truly want to study men, try "men's health"

If you look under the health category, it's right there, answering all sorts of interesting masculine questions.

Live well~

I'd love so much if you started one.
Then maybe the Trolls could all go over there and have a Troll circle.
Yes, Yahoo is sexist.
Good luck
