Has anyone else been only 8 weeks pregnant and already had to wear maternity clothes? If so, what did the doctor say?
I am 8 weeks and can only wear maternity clothes. My regular jeans used to fit loose and now I can not even button them. I went in last week and just saw a nurse for the prenatal interview. I go in on Thursday and am nervous.

This is my first pregnancy and I know that my regular clothes would still fit if it was just bloating. I always wear loose fitting clothes anyway.

I have only gained one pound in two months. I have my first actual prenatal physical exam on Thursday.

Is this your second pregnancy. I was like that with my second child. A (nurse) friend of mine said it was because the uterus goes to pregnancy size much faster.

If it's your first pregancy - could it be twins?

Either way, just try to stay relaxed. It doesn't necessarily mean anything's wrong. Wait and see what the doctor has to say. Good luck and Congrats!

Hi. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I am finding that my pants are already getting a little snug. With my first baby I was also wearing maternity clothes at 8 weeks. With each subsequent baby, you do start to show sooner. It is not necessarily the baby that is causing this, but rather the fact that you are retaining water, you have increased blood flow and volume, your hormones start to make things shift around to prepare for your expanding uterus, and you may be bloated also. If you are a thin person, you tend to show earlier. There is the possibility of twins unless you've already had that ruled out via ultrasound, and some people do just show sooner than others, and some don't show until they are near the end! Whatever the case may be, I am sure that this is entirely normal. Plus, it is always fun to get out the maternity clothes! It just makes you feel all that much more pregnant! Pregnancy is such a wonderful time in a womans life, although it may be trying at times! Just try to enjoy being pregnant! :) Good luck and I hope this helped!

You shouldn't worry too much about wearing maternity clothes this early in your pregnancy. When I found out I was pregnant it seemed that I grew out of my clothes that same week. If I can remember correctly, I was about 7 or 8 weeks pregnant also when I had to switch to maternity clothes. It is normal for some people to show sooner than others. Congrats on your pregnancy and Good Luck!

I know you don't think that's what it is, but its more than likely just bloating and possibly a little weight gain. At 8 weeks, the baby is too small to make an impact on your clothing size. Also, even if there were a couple babies in there, you wouldn't be showing from the babies yet (had twins with my first pregnancy). Best of luck to you!

it is so no longer hassle-free to comprehend! With my first toddler i did no longer start to "tutor" until eventually 5 or 6 months, yet i began donning maternity denims around 4 months for convenience. This time i'm 12 weeks and already experience like my denims are too tight around the middle and could in all risk swap to maternity clothing lots faster. i'm due in November too, and could in all risk purchase summer season maternity clothing this time, on account that if i purchase chilly-climate stuff it won't do me any good in some months! good success:)

I started wearing maternity clothes about that time. I could have bought bigger jeans but didnt want to so just started wearing maternity clothes, the drs didnt say anything. this was my first child and my belly got big very soon. Its the actual weight they will look at, to make sure you are not gaining too much.

wear what's comfortable for you. it makes no sense to squeeze into something especially when you are expecting. i started wearing maternity jeans probably about 2 weeks or so after i found out i was pregnant so it was around 7 weeks or so. my dress work pants fit me a little longer and i would just pin them shut to get a little more wear out of them. target has really great and reasonable jeans. i have been rotating the same 3 pair from there and i am in my 7th month. they are really comfortable.

I suppose it's possible, there is a lot of swelling in the first trimester.
I just bought maternity clothes this weekend, I'm 28 weeks.

Some people have but at this point its intestinal bloating....at 8 weeks the baby is so small and they is not much in there to make you show. I was big at 8 weeks with my last one and as gross at it is I went to the bathroom a lot and saw my tummy shrink.
