If you already have service with a cell phone carrier like Cingular and you get tired of the phone you have, can you buy a phone off Ebay and just switch the SIM cards? Or is there something else you have to do?

Since you are on Cingular, it is easier. Just buy a phone that is "unlocked" or "locked to Cingular", you can just switch the SIM cards (or, just insert your SIM card into the new phone).

You should also be able to buy phones from the local Craigslist website.

depends, some sim cards are locked to specific phones or the phones are locked to the sim card, not sure which... your phone company will probably tell you if you ask them

it is not correct what telephone you employ, so in case you have an old nicely suited one or you will get one off craigslist or ebay. you're no longer required to setup a clean contract or purchase the telephone from AT&T, yet you will likely ought to pay a small fee for a clean simcard to have it artwork.
