I've seen many people responding to marital woes with suggestions of being sexually adventurous. I know what that means to me, but it has become evident through conversations with friends that everyone has their own activities that they like to engage in, and I don't know anyone who thinks they aren't good in bed.
My question is a two-parter. First, what kind of sexual activities do you think are adventurous? Secondly, how did you come by the knowlege of these adventurous activities?
I'm really not looking for lurid descriptions of sex acts. I'd rather you speak in general terms. You are also welcome to find a different question to get your 2 points for answering.

Part I - The best sexual activities that are adventurous are the ones that you think of that would be fulfilling to you and your partner. Most likely, something that you have never tried and always wanted to do. Definitely something out of the ordinary and that you both will always remember. However, I would not suggest going outside of your relationship because that tends to lead to more problems than necessary (trust issues).
Part II - The knowledge is the easy part. That's what FRIENDS are for!!!! Friends are full of ideas, advice and experience. There's always the option of an adult store and you would be surprised how much fun that is when you and your partner go together.
The best "spice" is knowing that you are about to enter a zone in which "Everything Goes". There shouldn't be any limitations, both parties should be up for it, physically exhausted but blissfully pleasured beyond words. This would definitely fall in the category of "The Hot N Heavy" stuff that's just too hot to handle and mind blowing to talk about. Your body should or almost react off of the memory alone.

i find that being adventurous is anything you haven't tried before, whether it be a toy or a position. it's just something new! i tend to find out from my girlfriends (yeah women have a tendency to talk about way too much! haha) you could try a book in a bookstore or visit an adult store with your partner. i bet if you and your partner went to an adult store you would find a lot of fun games you never would think of!

My husband and I have a lot of "spice". But I would never prescribe it to "fix" a bad relationship. I would recommend against being adventurous outside your marriage. If your marriage has problems, go ahead and be adventurous, but only with each other.

for me spicing it up is doing something out of character, spontaneous, whether it's a thought that I was afraid to think or something I saw on TV

Have her eat a lot of really spicy food with hot peppers, then hit it from the back.
It'll be 'hot' for both of you.

It is less what you do (cosplay, light bondage) and more locations and spontaneousness
