Hi. Windows XP is a good OS but it takes more 'horsepower' to run it. If you still want to try it, add more RAM, maybe upgrade the CPU if possible, and follow the good advice from previous answers about malware removal. Remember to defragment the harddrive too.

Using registry cleaner can fix your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there are some regsitry errors in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically. It can even speed up your computer by 300% or more!

I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

These are cleanup tools. Ad-aware cleans files, and SpyBot cleans the registry,

You might run your Anti-virus scan.

Go to START and pick RUN. Type MSCONFIG and go to the startup section. Uncheck the programs that you do not need. Keep your Anti-virus checked.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
