3D card is a physical hardware that you will need to pry open your computer case to install. You will connect your monitor to the new card. Cost of the hardware depends on how 'high end' you want. It varies between 50 bux to 500 bux.

You will need to know which card interface your computer can take, there are three different kinds- PCI, AGP, and PCI express-16.

PCI are very sacre to find since they are old and not popular.

AGP (Advanced Graphic Port) Getting old nowaday, but you can find alot of them around.

PCI express 16 is the newest of all, and increasily becoming popular. Best option for high end cards.

Good luck.
