I have a home with two bedrooms of the exact same size right next to each other. I want to knock the wall down and make it into one large bedroom. Any estimates on how much this might cost? Also, once the wall is knocked down, my guess is that a small part of wall might have to be built to cover one of the door areas of one part since the doors in the two rooms face the same direction. Anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

Things to consider, is this a structural wall, is it holding anything else up? How much is in the wall? electrical outlets switches, plumbing etc. Is it just drywall or is it plaster? Are they wood studs or metal? Will the floors match up, is one carpet and one tile? Is there texture that will have to match up were the walls meet? As you can see there are many things that are involved. What they show on TV looks easy, it is for them because they have a crew that does it all for them. Be careful it can get expensive fast.

Find an experienced carpenter in your area. Check the classified ads in your newspaper for "Handyman", "carpenter", or something similar. Without knowing the details, it's impossible to give an estimate through here. It might be a load-bearing wall between the two, it might be a closet, there could be wiring, plumbing, heat runs, or more in there. You'll have to match the flooring between the two, and the drywall, and more. If you have to move plumbing or electrical, you're talking a lot more money. You need someone experienced to look at it.
