Assuming you live in the northern United States, if you put weed and feed down now, you will need to wait until slightly cooler weather returns in late August or September to re-seed your lawn.
The important question is, why do you feel you need to re-seed your lawn. Most lawns looks terrible after the snow melts in early spring. With a typical 4-step fertilizer program from early April to early October, the lawn will quickly fill in and re-seeding will not be necessary. You should only need to re-seed if your lawn is over 50% non-existant or you wish to change they type of grass in your lawn.
If you are in Zone 5, I suggest you put down crab grass preventer with a fertilizer now. Use weed & feed in about 6 weeks. Put on a light fertilizer with insect killer in late July. Apply a winterizer in early October. On Labor Day, ask yourself if you need to re-seed the lawn. Your answer will probably be "no".
If you live in a different zone, ask Lowes or Home Depot when you should apply each of the 4 steps or visit the website for Scotts at www.scotts.com.

The word "weed" in weed and feed is an ingredient that stops seeds from germinating. If you put out weed and feed you will have to wait at least 2 months to seed. If you seed first, you will have to wait until you see the grass growing before you weed and feed. I don't know where you live, but in Texas the spring and summer weeds have already germinated, so it's too late for a weed and feed anyway. You'd be better off just going with a regular lawn fertilizer. Also, I would buy a few bags of compost and put about an inch of compost on your dead patches, then put out your seed.

Your "weed and feed" should spell that out on the package. You usually can't put down a weed preventer on new grass seed. I would put down regular fertilizer and grass seed, but hold off on the weed preventer.

RE:
Do I "Weed and Feed" first or put down grass seed first?
Our grass is starting to come back from the winter. We have dead patches in it. We bought "weed and feed" and seed. I know I can't do them both at the same time. Which one do I do first? I mowed the lawn short this morning and it is supposed to rain tomorrow.

Use a starter fertilizer. Some "regular" fertilizers will prevent the germination of the grass seed.
