What was the south's victory strategy for the civil war? I would do this on my own but my teacher didn't tell us where to look, i feel bad about cheating though...

to wear the north out. they thought this would work since it worked in the american revolution.

The South hoped that one of the following would happen:
That one or more of the border slave states would join the Confederacy, that the North would tire of the war and seek peace, that European powers including Britain and France would intervene to broker a peace. Scoring a major military victory in the North at Antietam or Gettysburg might have done that.
