It means I can stand on my own two feet. I will help someone in need but only until they can help themselves. It means the government needs to remember that they are spending money that someone else earned. It means being informed on both sides of every issue. (liberal and conservative views) It means that I know the government is full of people who think they know what is best for me but aren't any smarter. It means I believe that the government really isn't good at anything and therefore should be limited in size and strength.
I do not agree with Democrats on many issues but I do listen. And in some cases I am willing to compromise

To me, being a republican means being devoted to the hope of someday having a sincere, honest, caring, integrital individual in office.
It's not that all democrats are the opposite of this, it's just that the ones that aren't never have enough money or support to run and win.

To me it means about the same as a Democrat. Both are fiscally irresponsible and emphasize retaining power and getting re-elected as high priorities, maintaining cheap labor pools and putting their self interests ahead of the average American citizen.
