At 31 weeks I started going every 2-3 weeks, and at 36 I'm supposed to start going every week. So far they haven't done anything different - weight, blood pressure, fundal height, and baby's heart rate. The doctor said at 36 weeks they will do the GBS strep test, and give me the paperwork to get pre-admitted to the hospital. At some point in the last 4 weeks, they'll start doing cervical exams, but I'm not sure if my doctor is going to do that at my next visit or not.

You usually start going more often as you get further along in your pregnancy. Makes sense. But if you want specifics, try calling your clinic/doctor's nurse/doctor. They'll be glad to help you I'm sure. People aren't just born knowing this stuff.
The norm in an appointment is usually, getting your vitals done, your weight, and maybe an ultrasound here and there. Then as you're closer to your due date, you'll have your cervix checked for dilation.
If you have Rh negative blood, you may get a shot soon called RhoGam. I pasted the link for you.
It sounds scary but is really no big deal. Just be sure to get the shot! (It does burn a little, fair warning)
Congrats and good luck!

I am 30 weeks and just had an appt on Friday...my doctor said i will start going every 2 weeks at Week #34...then the closer it gets it will be every week...I believe once you start going every week they start checking to see if you're dialating...and of course the heartbeat :)

You will start to go every week when you reach 38-40 weeks and definately if you go over. On those vistis they check the heartbeat and if you go over the fluid level in the sac. They will also monitor your blood pressure and check for signs of toxcemia and other common illnesses with pregnancy. They also just ask how are you feeling.

i will inform you that i became 12 weeks earlier I had my first appointment. They scheduled it for exceptionally some distance out as quickly as I called and that they did an ultrasound then, yet like I pronounced i became 12 weeks. that is not any longer very probable that they are going to do and ultrasound only yet. and that i assure you there is not any longer something to be nervous approximately. I felt a similar way.

About 34 weeks. The closer you are to your due date, the closer you are visiting your OB. They check the heartbeat, and yadda yadda yadda, but they also check to see if you're dialated. Good Luck!
