I'm not sure with Acer, but many laptops have a feature to disable the touchpad if there is an external mouse connected. There are also sometimes utilities that come with the laptop to configure the "pointing devices"-some people do not like the touchpad, as things like your sleeve dragging across it can move the cursor. Look for something like "Acer Utilities" in your program files. You can also try looking on the Acer website. One last thing-Right click My computer, Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager and look under "Mice and other pointing devices" and see if there is an entry for your touchscreen and see if it is disabled-if so, right click and choose Properties and Enable this device.

Although I don't have all the information to make this assumption I sort of wonder if the drivers for your mouse are overriding the drivers for the touchpad during startup, that would explain it being on for a minute before those drivers kick in your usb mouse. Try disabling the mouse drivers in the device manager and see if your touchpad appears to work then, if not it may be a issue of to many startup programs at once overloading your processor and due to the cpu buffer being pushed to the max you'd lose mouse movement. Good luck!

verify with the guide. There should be a keyboard blend for reactivating a deactivated touchpad. In toshiba platforms it really is Fn+F9. i don't be conscious of if it is going to artwork on an acer. If the warranty on your workstation has no longer expired yet, you are able to deliver it again and performance it fixed at no value.

Those do go bad you know, especially if something like coffee or soda is spilled near them or on them.
