It sound like to me, that your spouse is sucking you dry.

You are the only earner in that household. If you really want to leave your spouse, do it, especially if he is holding you back.

As a single parent, you will open doors to more opportunities that can help you.

I am not saying that welfare is ideal, but some people do need help for a little while getting by.

Check out some programs, or other financial resources, to help you out.

First of all go to Social Services. Find out if you are entitled to money if your spouse does not support them after you leave. Also if they would supplement your income so you could get an apartment with your children. Also you have to have a place to go. If you have parents that will take you in for a while, then I would go there till you get on your feet. Good Luck

Believe me when I say, don't do it. You might think you are badly off right now, but if you left and was on your own with your kids and no-one to help you out from time to time, you will go nuts. The grass is definitely not greener on the other side. Of course if you have a job that pays you super wages then go for it.

You didn't say much as to why you want to leave your spouse. look in your area for help. Go to a community center and ask if they have any suggestions. Ask other women in your area for help. Ask you religious leader for help. There are all kinds of help out there if you just ask.
