Cervagem, or prostoglandin is what you are looking for. Don't freak out when you google it and see that it is also used to induce miscarriages. What it does is soften, or ripen the cervix so that they can rupture your membranes. It also can put you into labour as well. I have a really good track record with prostin, 7 out of 10 of the women who I would put the prostin into would deliver before the next morning.
Prostin or cervagem, is very much like sperm, which is why we tell women to go home and have sex to try and bring on labour.
Don't be scared, this is a wonderful amazing time for you.

Don't be scared. Pitocin will make the contractions steady and stronger. It helps you dilate. remember you could go into the hospital, get the drug and wait a long time for anything to happen. Labor is not a fast thing. You'll be fine and by the time every dr. has seen you, you won't care about pain or anything. You'll just want to see your beautiful baby. Get that bag ready!

I also received both of those when being induced with my first. I have to say Pitocin is a beautiful thing. I received my dose at around 10pm, while watching the Oscars [ in the hospital bed of course] and by 12pm, I had my baby boy!!
Congrats and good luck

You *should* ask your doctore, and if it is Cytotek, you should RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN to a different doctor. Cytotek has been used to induce labor and causes uterine rupture. THIS IS BAD!
If it's Cervidil, don't worry, that's not so bad.
Still, it is not necessary to chemically-induce labor - there is yet to be a baby who remains in the womb indefinitely! As long as your baby is doing alright (they can conduct a non-stress-test) you should remain as physically active as you comfortably can (walking regularly) and let nature take its course.
Try going for walks, vacuuming, walking up and down stairs.

This is my best guess. The drug's name is Cervidil. It's used intravaginally to ripen the cervix prior to labor. Sometimes this will jump start labor. I had it with my son 6 years ago. Don't be scared....keep an open mind.....and listen to your doctors and nurses.
Good luck!

It's probably Cervadil. That's what I had, then Pictocin. Cervadil is inserted into the vagina to soften the cervix, but it made my baby's heartbeat iregular, so we had to go with Pic. God, it hurt like heck, but it made labor quick and easy!
