To get off the earth and into orbit you need to be traveling at a speed great than 17,000 mph. If you were to achieve this without a shuttle you would be dead b4 you reached this speed from the force of traveling so fast then you'd burn from the friction of the air molecules in the atmoshphere. Thus seeing the whole of the Earth without a space shuttle or another flying device is impossible. Also even if you did survive that you would die immediatley in space from one of several factors. You would explode because of no atmospheric pressur, or freeze, or suffocate.

You can't see the earth because you are too close to it. It's quite big. If you get about 20 miles up you can start to see the curve. You can't jump off it because the gravitational field at the surface is too strong.

1) You can't jump fast enough to escape the Earth's gravitational pull.
2) You'd die in open space in about 30 sec of suffocation and hypothermia.
