Alford is a horrible coach who should have been fired last year

I've been a Hawkeye fan since Lute Olson took over and made Candy LaPrince his first star. I don't think Alford is that bad of a bench coach. I think he is a poor recruiter. Since he has been at Iowa, he has landed only one 4-star recruit and that was Tyler Smith who originally committed to Tennessee and changed his mind when they had a coaching change. (Of course, he does have two four-star recruits for next year.) Ohio State, as an example, has landed three 4-star and 3 5-star recruites (with three more 5-star and five more 4-star recruits in the next two years already committed to OSU)

Alford's recruiting has been no better than Dr. Tom Davis's and that was the story we were told when they released Dr. Tom (that he couldn't recruit).

I definitely do. He has underachieved as a coach. His stock has definitely decreased. Indiana is probaly happy that they hired Sampson from Oklahoma last year.
