I agree it would stop them from being seen. But it wouldn't make them disappear or go away. My slightly misguided friend. Are you gonna let them keep you from all the other people on here that could benefit from your high moral ground.

Why is there so much smut everywhere you look? Because there are a lot of smutty people in the world. I guess we'll never stop the smutt until we clean up society's act and start teaching our children to be ethical people. By the way children learn from what they see out there people.

It's all 'supply and demand' I'm afraid! The world is full of smutty perverts who want to look at these sites. Unfortunately, limiting advances in technology would never solve the problem. It would become even more prominant in the black market and it would be harder for the cops to catch them as they wouldn't have the resources the internet provides. Technology will always provide advantages and disadvantages as there will always be 'good' and 'bad' people out there. Destroying modern computer technology would not get rid of the 'bad'. Not what you wanted to hear....Sorry.

All u used to do is put me down now I've found a way to pick myself up off the ground and ah, all u used to do is criticize me but now I found the good and I emphasize, u see. U would always get so sensetive and try to turn ur transgressions into my guiltiness but now, I'm certain of the way I live and what I'm responsible for in this twisted game And it's such a shame that u try to make pain another word for my name Whether giving or recieving it's one and the same just one more link in ur longass chain that it's time to break this frame of mind, strength of will. Time to jump off this negetive cycle we've built. Gave my heart but my self respect u won't steal now it's time to let me know if u can hear or feel me go...

Doubt it. Pornography drives the technology as there is so much money in it, and much of what we enjoy with our computers today comes as a direct result of that. The only reason VHS won over the technically superior Betamax format for VCRs in the 70s was because the US porn industry adopted VHS as their standard.

No. Bit of a backward step. There must be complete freedom, but within the law. In fact the net helps to catch the people who mis-use it. The agencies have good enough parsers to watch anybody.

nope. remember when the internet first became popular, and everyone would "cyber" in the chatrooms?
Besides...the internet was invented with the sole purpose of sharing and selling smut, and smut based services. Academia was just a by-product.

Because people completely b*stardize the Constitution, and have no idea what freedom of speech is really meant to entail.
But yes, I agree.
