First off, my first thing was hoping the baby was healthy. He is from what we could tell and we have a doctor appointment next week. I was absolutely 100% positive I was going to have a boy, but wanted a girl. Of course I was happy with a boy as well. We got two types of ultrasound pics. One was in 3D and the other was 2D. My hubby is still gloating as he said it was a girl and not a boy. :) Lucky guess. I still can't get over how fast the heartbeat is in a baby. How did you feel with your ultrasounds. For me the health was most important, but I couldn't wait until we found out.

Her name is Kathryn Elise and she is due Aug 2nd, but this ultrasound says Aug 9th so am now 19 weeks and 3 days by ultrasound. I am staying with Aug 2nd as that was my first ultrasound. Just wanted to hear what everyones reactions were when they found out they were having a healthy baby

Kityrat, I'll keep you and babe in my hopes. At 16 weeks they couldn't find the heartbeat and I thought I lost my mucus plug. I was so afraid I was going to lose my precious angel. I was in the ER and finally they hooked me and baby up to the monitor. My cervix remained closed. You may or may not be one for prayer, but I will keep you and babe in mine. It's such a scary thing when those things happen. I just wanted to offer you encouragement. It was also why I wasn't looking at the gender first. I wanted to make sure she was okay. All the best to you.

Thanks for posting this question.
My 19 week US did not turn out to be a very happy event. We went home elated to find out that we were having a boy and thought that everything was okay. We didn't pay close enough attention.
The OB called the next day to say that the baby was fine, but there may be a problem with the womb.
I have another US tomorrow to rule out or confirm that my amniotic fluid levels are too low.
Reading everyone's happy stories was nice. It's good to hear about happy things when my husband and I are so discouraged.

I got my ultrasound at 19 weeks exactly, and it was done with the new 3D/4D scan. My fiance and I were so excited to go in, and I was so overzealous about chugging water that the tech informed me I had too much, causing my baby to turn to my back and not want to face us! But we found out he was a boy and I was so amazed to see his profile (he still wouldn't turn around, even after I emptied my bladder). We could tell that he has his Daddy's forehead. I also got a nice shot of his little wee wee, which caused me to chuckle. It was amazing to see him yawn on the screen, and I'm sorry that we didnt' think to videotape the whole process. I wanted a girl, but I'm glad I have a boy and I love him more and more everyday.
Of course we're all worried about our baby's health, but I think that seeing him up there on the screen helped me bond with him a lot more. The kicks were just little flutters then, and I had a hard time believing that he was real.
I'm currently 29 weeks and I can hardly wait for him to get here in June.
Congrats and good luck!

There are no words to possibly explain it.It's the best feeling in the world.Of course the health of the baby is the most important thing.I thought that I was too young and I was very scared that I wouldn't make a good mother, but now my daughter is almost 2 now and I know now that I am a great mother.I would never trade it for anything in the world. Now I am hoping for a boy.

I just went last week and was sooooooo excited to see it was a boy. Everyone kept telling me it was a boy and to see it confirmed was so exciting. I also thought he has 3 legs but 1 was a penis lol. I am also worried now bc they said my amniotic fluid was low. They don't tell me that everything looks fine which kinda scares me but he looked good to me and moving around and his little heartbeat. I didn't get a 3D though :( I wanted a boy even though I didn't care as long as it was healthy since I had a miscarriage before.

I was so excited!!! I'm always worried about the health, but if there was something seriously wrong with the baby, the doctors would have found out by now (I'm 23 weeks).
When I got my first ultrasound, I cried, especially when we saw the baby moving her arm and saw her heartbeat.
Then when it was the ultrasound to find out what she was I, again, cried with joy. && it was such a relief to find out that she was healthy. =]
GOod Luck. =]

I thought the pictures were amazing - I didn't realize it would be so clear with just a normal ultrasound. I could pick out her little fingers in one. Of course, hubby said it just looked like black and white blobs to him. He looked bored until the tech said she thought it was a girl. I had wanted a boy, but the look on his face when he heard he was getting his little girl was SO worth it.
They told me that the baby looked like she might be about a week early based on my ultrasound at 20 weeks. I'm counting my weeks based on my LMP, but I really hope that she gets here early!

I was 8 weeks when I had my first one...but I cried even then. I had twins and was excited. Then when I was about 16 weeks we found out they were girls and my husband was extremely excited over that.
Every ultrasound I had was quite memorable. I left the office feeling different. It was wonderful though. I can't imagine how my mom went through pregnancy with me without an ultrasound.

For our first one, it was amazing. A perfect little girl. We were looking more forward to seeing the second one because we really really were anxious to see what it was. I really wanted a girl because I wanted a little sister for our daughter. But it was a boy. It took a while to get used to the fact that it's a boy. I'm still not 100% excited about it, but I am glad too because we want a 3rd baby. If this one was a girl, then the 3rd would just have to be a boy. But since this one is the boy, the 3rd can be anything it wants to be.
He looks just like Kylee too. It's weird to say that from an ultrasound we can see what he looks like, but he looks just like his sister. I'm happy about that because Kylee is the cutest baby alive! A woman once asked us if we were going to have more and we said yes. She said "good, because you make cute babies."
Congrats

I was thrilled since i had 4 previous pregnancies that did not work out for me. I knew all along it was a boy, i had dreams of him and had the 3d ultra sound done as, well i thought i would be shocked to see his face but it looked just like what i had dreamt. It did however really excite my hubby to see him and made it more real for him.
