An empath is someone that is in tune with the feelings of others. Like when you see someone hurting & you seem to feel as bad as they do, understanding what they are going through.

With sympathy you only relate to another's feelings.
In empathy, you experience them as deeply as if they were yours.

In fiction, a person who has that ability is also called an "empath."
