It probably did not affect her baby, but she should get her doctor to check it out- ultrasound, etc... to make sure

She should be fine since she stopped. I used as well before I found out and quit immediately as well as smoking and Im doing ok. It is good she stopped bc if she were to keep doing it something could def. go wrong. Not encouraging it at all but I must say I knew a girl, a selfish girl, who used occasionally the whole pregnancy and surprising her kid was healthy as can be. Also I knew 4 other girls who did it until they found out and they babies were fine as well. Just once, I would not freak out everything should be fine. People who continue to use can have miscarriages, still births, and birth defects. Also she should mention is to her doctor so he can just make sure everything is ok. Tell her not to be embarrassed, it is confidential and they seen it before.

As long as she doesn't do it anymore, I would say she should be ok. Narcotic drugs are better for you during pregnancy than some over the counter medicines. But DON'T tell your friend that. The worst part of using drugs during pregnancy is to give birth to an addicted child. But, she has nine months before that should be a problem. Anyway, I drank alcohol before I realized I was pregnant, and my son is completely normal and healthy. And they say that is so horrible, so I'm sure things will be ok. She might want to warn her doc though, just to be sure...

The baby should be OK. My wife's friend was a pregnant coke whore. The baby is a few years old now and shows no signs that her mother was a pregnant coke whore.

As long as your friend doesn't use coke anymore during the pregnancy, baby and mom should be fine.

If you are sure that she used it once then her baby should be alright. If she told you that she used it once she could be lying for all you kno. But if she is lying yes when the baby is born 9 of 10 the baby is going to have some problem

Any form of substance abuse or drug abuse is often volatile for the duration of being pregnant. Get those problems under administration till now combating beginning administration or attempting to conceive. a well-being care provider can help a woman discover advice. (medical doctors who cope with those problems are observed as addictionologists.) it rather is extremely significant to supply up utilising cocaine till now conceiving. study has shown that cocaine injury to the infant can ensue as early as 3 days after theory!

Using cocaine even once can cause irreversible damage. Hopefully it hasn't. The only way to tell is for her to talk honestly with her doctor and they can determine what tests are needed to see what condition the baby is in.

This may not be the most popular answer, but -- I think the risks are virtually nil, assuming it wasn't a week-long sleep-free binge, and no, she doesn't need to tell her doctor. It's not as though there's anything to be done.

Most of these things are dose-dependent, and -- again, this is not going to be popular -- the reason you can't find much about problems from a one-shot exposure early on is because there are so rarely problems.

What things I can find about fetal exposure to cocaine -- try scholar.google.com for searches -- invariably involve "And Mom was also a chain-smoking drunk who'd never heard of pre-natal vitamins," etc.

To be honest, I rate it as less of a worry than my twice-daily use of a 'pregnancy category C' asthma inhaler. Again, it's all so dose-dependent.

If it really was just once then the baby may be okay. But how many people just use coke ONCE?? She needs to tell her doctor

As long as she doesn't have any more coke sessions while pregnant - she and baby are probably just fine.

your friend should get checked out even though she could get in trouble for it. It is the safest thing for her to do and the baby may have been affected even if it only was once.
