Etsy.com is for selling handmade crafts...ART. Is it similiar to eBay.com?

I started using Etsy (and opened an etsy store) in January, and it's both similar to eBay and very different. Clear as mud, huh? ;)
Etsy does not run timed auctions like eBay does, instead it's all "Buy It Now" stores where people list their wares to be purchased. The only time one buyer has a chance of losing an item to another buyer is if the item is put into their shopping cart and left there long enough for someone else to come by, put the same item in THEIR shopping cart then pay for it before the first person does. But really, the chances for that are very very slim.

It's similar but they don't promote it very well. Mostly the members buy from each other.
