if by stopped up you mean it's blocked by wax, then try putting a warm cloth on it!

or else migrate to a warmer country for the cold season :p

Its more than likely that the tube that leads from the ear to the throat is full of infection. Yes I have a plan for you, get a sock put some table salt into it and make a small ball, then tie it off. Put the sock into a pot and heat it up. When hot put another sock over it and tie it off. Now lie on it with your bad ear on the sock. The combination of the salt and the heat should draw the infection out of the ear. You might have to do this more than once, ok
