18 seasons and still going strong.
It's funny, I never thought, when I was 13 watching the show, I'd still be watching new episodes all these years later with my 3 year old. He thinks the show is so funny and calls them the yellow people or The Sillies. We're going to see the movie as soon as it comes out.

yep, it's still going strong as of this writing, despite whatever shenanigans the Fox programming monkeys have been up to lately. (Is it that freakin' hard to air *two* new episodes in two weeks, people???)
And watch out for the movie coming this summer. Some people think it's the final act, but creator Matt Groening has been on record saying the show will last as long as there's an audience. Two more seasons of The Simpsons have just been ordered by Fox.

Yes. The Simpsons has run its course, but new episodes continue to be made, of greatly inferior quality to the earlier ones, because the execs at Fox believe the show still makes a profit. End the show already!

It has not run its course yet, there is a Simpsons movie coming out in a few months.

Although I feel it has run its course, new episodes are being produces. There is talk of going for 20 full seasons and calling it quits then

They still make new episdoes, there was just a new one on last week, its still on fox sunday nights usually at 8, sometimes there is one old one on and one new one. In July they are putting out the Simpson's Movie.

It is still running, and will probably not end until 2008, when the movie comes out too.

yhea they are still making new episode they come on fox every Sunday at 8 n the movie is coming out it is going to be so funny i cant wait
