US involvement in Combodia?

I need to know what are the disasters that were caused by the United states's involvement in combodia during the Khmer Rouge communism. please help me with this Question its important.

All I can tell you is that I had a cousin who served in the army and none of our family believed him when he came back and said that he served in Cambodia.
