My husband and I have been married for 10 years, and have a 7 year old son.
We wanted lots of kids 5-6-7, it didn't matter.

But, after the first child, we ran into trouble conceiving.
After 7 years, we are pregnant again, but now we want to stop at 2, due to the age difference.

Anyone else run into this?

People change their minds about how many children they want all the time--for whatever reason. I don't think it is so unusual.

I don't think you should let the age difference be the only factor in determining the size of your family. You may find that you get pregnant easily with babies #3, #4, #5...

I have a friend who had such a hard time getting pregnant with her second child that she stopped using birth control because she thought the odds were against her ever conceiving again. Ha! She now has five kids!

It's all up to you and your husband. I have a boss who is 43 and his older sibbling is 43. On top of that, their father got divorced and remarried and has a 23 year old daughter with the new wife. So an age difference doesn't matter, it's up to the people involved.

whatever you feel... if you want a big family then go for it... that's if you can support them all. My boss is 15 years apart from his brother... they get along really well
