everytime i go online windows xp does windows update automatilcally. How long will it keep doing that and why?

It will probably keep doing it until all the updates are done..there is a setting you can change if you dont want them to be updated automatically. if you go

--start menu
--control panel

On the left of the control panel, it should say windows update..click on that and it should take you to the windows update website.

In Control Panel is an applet called "Automatic Updates" and you can set it for different times or turn it off entirely.

It will do that until there aren't anymore updates. The reason is that there is always bugs in the system to be fixed. New technologies, easier and faster ways to do things.
