Yes, and it lasts well through the first year or so of your child's life. It's called "Mommy Brain" and many women suffer from this affliction. : ) I'm telling you, you will feel like the dumbest woman in the world for a really long time, and one day you will just pick up your child and feel like Superwoman, a woman who can take care of her husband, child, and herself, along with taking care of household chores and possibly holding down a full time job. Like me. But, this moment will last about as long as it takes you to trip over your own feet or run your kids head into the wall on accident or something like that... Don't fret, all of us Superwomen have these days...

I knew I was pregnant because I ran three red lights in less than half an hour. My brain was just in a fog, it was awful. I was finishing my last semester of college during my first and second trimesters, and it was really tough.

It did get a little better later on, though. Now I'm just so exhausted all the time that I can't think. I still do stupid stuff. The other day I introduced myself to someone at my husband's office - and he gave me a funny look. That's when I realized I've met him on several occasions. I swear the baby steals your brain!

TOTALLY NORMAL!!! i started a new job just after i found out i was about a month pregnant and it was crazy. Things that i would've normally picked up on so quick i just couldn't concentrate on. My new boss just couldn't understand why i wasn't picking up on everything like the other new people. He was very impatient which made me feel even more of a ditz. Now my son is 3 mos and i've started another job and i'm still an airhead! i believe it's because we're supposed to resting through pregnancy and raising a child. We're not supposed to be doing too much but in today's world - it's almost impossible!! :)

Yes. It is completely normal. I was in school full time during my entire pregnancy and is was hard to concentrate. Wow! That was six years ago and just wait. It gets better and then worse...I still cannot complete a simple task because I am constantly being bothered by "Mommy...." :)

During my first trimester, I,too, had a hard time concentrating, but then again I had a lot of stress at the time as well. I think it'd be common.

Most definitely. Since becoming pregnant 19 months ago with my son, my memory...see, I'm trying to think of the word now, my memory retention, is completely gone. It used to be photographic, but not anymore, and I can't remember something a second after I think of it. It's terrible, but just a part of it. Good luck, and know that you're not alone!
