Being a counsellor for a long time, I don't believe "people" in themselves are bad. I believe their "behaviours", "actions", and "choices" they make are bad. Most behaviours are learned from childhood, therefore it is natural for people to speak and behave badly. They think that this is normal. It's all they have ever known.

I think it is definately taught and learned. Sometimes when people are treated a certain way that bothers or hurts them, they act that way too. Most people who are mean or "bad" are people that have been hurt. They feel that if they treat others that way they can't get hurt. Other times it isn't even intentional. The person was raised that way and doesn't know any other way to be.

Freewill...I personally don't believe that someone is born mean, or has mean genes, per say. It is definitely taught.
