Any ideas on how to trim down my beer belly, a nasty leftover from college? I am 6'0" and 200lb. All that I drink now is 2 cups of coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day. The weight does not matter, I would rather be 220lbs and solid than be 180lbs and flabby. I do not eat sweets and very few fried foods. Any excercise/ diet ideas? I live in a small town that does not have a gym so I will be on my own for fitness. One more thing any ideas on how to stop smoking with the weight loss process, I want all round better health. Thanks

I quit smoking while increasing my work outs and to me that is the best time to do it, you have more energy and cardio is actually fun! No gym? big deal, I bought a home gym from walmart called the competitor for $190 and some free weights for around 50. WAY cheaper then a gym. Look up the workouts you want to do for different results good luck.

Weights 3 times a week, cardio when you can, even if its light.

If you burn more calories then you consume, you'll lose fat, period.

So work on getting healthier and building muscle, and the fat should start dropping away.

You can do a ton of exercises even with just some dumb bells and a bench, plus bodyweight. Dumbbell row, press, shoulder flies, rear shoulder flies. You can hold heavy dumbbells and do squats or lunges. You can hold one doing a situp. Eventually (or now if strong enough) you can do dips or pullups.

I recommend bodybuilding.com for exercise ideas. You can specify free weight or body weight only and search for ideas.

Good luck!

Buy some home gym benches/machines. If you dont got the cash u could find a gym thats reasonably close to ur town. good Luck.

if you live in a small town, then i bet it is a pretty nice area, nature wise. i suggest getting a mountain bike and go riding, especially since spring is not too far away. cardio like that will help you shed the pounds and you can do crunches and pushups at home to get more tone. if your local hs has a track, like most do, go running on it in the evenings.
