I'd be willing to bet (and I'm no gambler) that that Vista doesn't have the software driver that will run your webcam I suggest going to the webcam manufacturer's web site and see if they've posted a driver for Vista, or at least when they think they will. Depending on how old your webcam is, the manufacturer may decide to NOT develop a driver for it, to force you to buy an later model.

Maybe because it's Vista, and right now Vista is still really buggy. I had it installed on a laptop and 2 days later I just downgraded to XP. It's more stable and isn't as annoying. The webcam may not have the proper driver for Vista, only for XP. Try going to the manufacturer's website and looking for a driver update for your webcam. If you find one, it should help.. Good luck!

Are you specific your equipment meets each and each of the standards? i've got heard Vista is quite fussy approximately Video playing cards and Processors once you're installation. Double verify your equipment spec against what Microsoft say you will desire to have and notice if that shows the subject. in case you have paid for Vista, then you have help from Microsoft which you would be waiting to take great thing approximately. If it incredibly is a downloaded reproduction from torrent or comparable, you have a dodgy version. the two re-acquire or purchase an good reproduction.

The drivers probably aren't updated for Vista yet. Try downloading new drivers from the manufacturer's website in about a week.

Hope that helps,

well, first you need to make sure the driver for that webcam is vista compatible. go to microsoft.com and look up your web cam and make sure that its compatible, or if there's an updated driver for vista.

You can also go to the web cam manufacturer's web site and they should be able to tell you.

(its not that vista is "buggy", it's just that your webcam may need an updated driver)

you have to say what you have tried so far.
did you unplug it then off your unit.
restart unit then shut down unit
then plug in webcam and see if it installs it self
do you have the install disk?
i think you need a software program to process the photos
