Ha! I feel for you. One of my coworkers is CONSTANTLY clearing her throat and making disgusting noises with her nose. It's so irritating. Actually, a friend once told me (while we were out eating) that I was chewing with my mouth open and smacking. I had no idea! She just called me out on it, and it didn't offend me at all. Once I was aware of it, I made an effort to stop. You may have to just straight up ask him if he could chew a little more quietly. Good luck!

Oh sick, that is a peeve of mine as well. There are eloquent ways of telling people something they are doing is bothering you. I would not be able to stand it. I would just maybe say, "sweetie, you know i adore you, your my friend but I have to tell you I am a weirdo, and i have always had this thing with the sounds of food and drink...blah-blah. i know its cooky, but could you indulge me and help me out here?"
If that doesn't work...eat a bunch of cabbage the night before, and when he starts up again....may the wind at your back be from last nights meal. he will be the one who wants to leave the toll booth.LOL

Ask him if he has any pet peeves? Then tell him yours.....telling him what you told us, that you don't want to hurt his feelings but it is really annoying with the two of you working so closely. He may give a try to break his bad habits. Good Luck

he might have false teeth that are not securely fit in that would account for the smacking, and slurping since he can really feel the straw. You have to find the right moment, talk to his wife maybe she could help you out.

Politely tell him that this is your pet peeve and if he can kindly stop. I work with an 85 year old woman who complains all the time and sometimes I try to ignore it and other times I just give her this look. lol

A good way to approach this issue would be to, next time this happens, say: "Oh, I noticed you must be out of your drink, could I get you some more?". That way, you're telling him that you notice his behavior without coming right out and saying it.
That or you could fight fire with fire so he can hear how incredibly annoying that sound is....so if it doesn't stop, start bringing those slupees to work with you!
Good luck!

My pet peeve when someone tells the subject of the conversation but says all unnecessary things just to get to the point. by the time they do get to the point you forgot what the subject was.

He is 70 and isn't going to change his ways. is there someway you can work with someone else or at a different spot? otherwise, try not to focus on it while he's doing it and try to do a puzzle or something to distract yourself.

whilst they do it you're extremely seeing and getting mad at your self for doing it. it is subconsciously of direction I recommend you're no longer extremely bodily seeing your self instead of them etc.. yet besides, i think of you ought to recover from it in case you stopped biting your guy or woman nails.
