I had this problem before too. Like when I turn on the computer, it'll stay on the screen where it says Windows XP and just not bootup after that. I found out later that it was cuz my motherboard was shot but since motherboards are soo expensive i just decided to get a new comp for about the smae price

Many reasons: It can be from your CPU fan. Let it cool down for an hour turn it on count how long it has been on. Next turn it on again and count again if second time and third time is less than before it is from your fan. That means your cpu gets hot and shutts down.
Thats the logical Idea.
I doubt it will be from your powersupply who knows.
but im gonna go 90% with CPU

Typically this is indicative of a hardware failure. Have you installed any new peripherals lately? Have you had any power outages lately? It could be anything from a dead motherboard to a bad piece of memory to a faulty fan. Calling Dell's tech support is your best solution.
