Air pressure

Have u ever heard of Gray-Lussac's Law?

P1/T1 = P2/T2

Do some research.
This law will explain how temperature is directly related to pressure.

the boiling point of water is dependent on the air pressure above the water - think of the air as trying to keep the water vapor molecules from escaping from the water - the higher the pressure above the water, the higher the boiling point and the lower the pressure above the water, the lower the boiling point

as you go up in altitude, air pressure decreases
so you have less pressure above the water and it boils at a lower temperature

because the water is boiling at a lower temperature, it is not as hot and doesn't transfer as much heat to the egg, so it has to boil LONGER

you can actually get water to boil at room temperature if you lower the pressure above the water enough with a vacuum pump - the water will be boiling, but it will not be hot

Because the water boils at a lower temperature. Water boils when the pressure of the liquid is equal to or higher than the air pressure above it. At a higher pressure it takes less heat to boil the water and it doesn't get any hotter than that so the water you are using to cook the egg isn't as hot and takes longer

Because water boils at a lower temperature at higher altitude due to the lower pressure.

air pressure.
more presser means more time

add salt to the water and this shall speed it up.
