Sorry so long but I keep hearing about how Hollywood's drug & other issues are just shining light on problems of society that have long been over looked. I read how hardly any families these days are stay together especially when you look at hollywood & how we view love, success, & happiness as what someone has in the bank. I have to ask myself what happened to us all. I'm just as bad. Feeling like a failure because I don't have a house or something but with the exception of Bill Gates or Warren Buffet I don't anyone who wouldn't like to have more money, a bigger salary or more time to spend with the kids or even time to have kids but yet we measure success & therefore happiness by monetary means & status. My grandfather died with maybe a worth of 200k & yet was married once to the same woman for 72 years until he died. Several friends chase after love by finding a guy with a nice car instead of a guy who sits & wants to share their time, listen to her day, jump her anytime he wants.

I like making people happy & being there for my friends so if one’s not themselves or unhappy then I’m going to try that much harder to be there for them as best I can’t but don’t pretend to read minds or know how to do that all the time all I can do is try. But sometimes feel punished or evil for that very thing especially if it’s a female friend. I’ll open a door for a woman or senior citizen not to offend them or put myself above them or hold them back but because I was taught that was what was courteous & polite. I want more who doesn’t but I don’t want to sell my soul for it. I mean if your given something the value is not that of something that you earned with hard work. Several of my female friends have had boyfriends who stayed at home & one in particular who when she got hurt couldn’t even drive to take her to the hospital or sit in the ER with her yet for her or any of my friends

I would have crawled through the desert or to the moon to have been there but she & several other friends talk about how unhappy they are yet change nothing. I remember a time where I dated a woman & we both lived pay check to pay check & while we didn’t live together & while she had a son we were pretty happy sure we wanted more & when I joined the military she supported it because it was what I wanted & thought long term would be good because I wasn’t super smart she joked about having to take me to war over other women when I came back all buffed & how my parents made it through the separation & were still going strong & we were just friends. Sure I wanted more but never sure what she wanted & yeah I probably blew it but again I guess a movie says it best “ You have to win to be loved” & is it me or is that just sad?

We all fall prey to the "money god" at one time or another. How can we help to avoid it when it is so pervasive in today's society. I guess, its trying to find the "better part" of life that makes us better than that. So , don't give up the good fight. You might think you're one in a million fighting the evils of today but I think you're one in a million for trying each day.
Vent all you want. If people don't like it they can move on to another question. Good luck

Unfortunately like they say," Money is the root of all evil" and this is so true some people focus so much on what they don't have until they forget to thank God for what they do have and tend to neglect the very precious thing that's right in front of them and it's really sad. To me someone to love you unconditionally is the biggest blessing and there are people that pray for a blessing everyday and don't realize when they have love that's the biggest blessing of all but their missing it because their not really thankful for love because their too busy worried about money and missing their true blessing. And as for your questions being long and you needing to vent some of us are more than happy to read and try to give our opinion on your situation and anybody Else who don't have the time can find something Else that may be easier for them to read and answer. I'm glad that you explain to the fullest extent that which you have to say. Have A Great Day!

EVIL no! It doesn't exist. At best it is an illusion and in my books illusions are things that don't exist.
Get joyful! The rest will work itself out by itself.
What do you mean you don't know how?
Yeah, sure I believe you.
Pet your cat. Don't have one. That figures.
Take a five dollar bill out to the street and hand it to the first person you see who looks like he/she might need it.
Then go home and listen to some classical music for 15 minutes. Should work, now watch The Secret
Have a great week!

I don't mind how long your question is btw.
I do mind when people post responses and their entire response is all shortened internet lingo. That is the sh!t I don't wanna read! LOL
Now, My dad died in March 2000 (72 y.o.) and had 200K to his name too, very few if any bills for me to pay after he passed. He was in WW2, traveled, lost a son YEARS before I was even a thought, lost his dad early in life, was married 1x before my mom, etc. He had been single for nearly 20+ years when he died. He had a nice lady friend Margie he visited. She was good for him to have in the last 8 or so years of his life.
He was 52 when I was born btw. I lost my daddy when I was in my early 20's, had lost my mom when I was a baby, no grandparents, no siblings, no nothing. When I die that is truly the end of my family name in this world.
Imagine, when you die, your family name dies. That's it. No more members of that family will ever walk the earth again. Sad huh?
ALL of my baby pictures were lost and all of my dad's pics were lost along with his life long legacy. No one will ever know what I or he looked like after I die. Ever. I may be able to scrape up a random pic of me or my dad from a cousin but that is not likely. Now my friend, that is sad.
Your situation is frustrating at best. Your lucky to be able to work and have a family to visit and have your "legacy"intact.
You know your family history, have those special momento's. I don't. They are irreplaceable and mine have been lost forever.
We are not living on the prairie in a little house my friend. I don't milk the cows for this am's breakfast. Are you feeling me?
It costs thousands to be born and thousands to die.
Back in the 1800's you were born for free or for a dollar or two and you dies for free or for a dollar or two. Now, It is 2g's to cremate a person! 200$ for the urn, 50$ for the memorial cards, 1g for the service, If said person died intestate your screwed out of money because every corporation has its greedy hands out for the last penny your loved one has in his/her accounts.
If you are like me and will die with no family whatsoever and are piss_*** poor your going to be buried in a pine box or cardboard in a paupers grave marked by a # in a large file somewhere incase someone ever wants to find you.
I am 30 btw. I am unable to have kids, will never get married and are expected to die very soon. I own cats that I love more than life itself and they are my only joy in life and I can't even afford to keep them medically healthy. I had to sell my TV last week to "cure" their URI's. I was supposed to not be charged the office visit fee BUT somehow that info got "lost" and I was charged. Over 100$ for a 32$ prescription of antibiotics.
God forbid they ever get a illness that is more than a "cold" and I will be forced to give them up to a shelter. Then what? Start over? Find a new cat that hopefully will outlive me? Yeah, I know if I "can't afford the vet I should not have the pet", right? Well, I'll be dead due to no fault of my own very soon let me have joy, ok jerks?!
Since I am dieing I can't work BUT I am not eligable (yet) for $$$ help. When I have 6-8 months left of my illness is when I will be able to get $$$ help.
I feel for ya buddy but hopefully this lets you know that your not alone.
