the cheapest and safe way is to,
1.wash and brush all the silver things with bath soap.
2. heat water in a pan and use some detergent power in it. after a while put all the silver things in it. simmer the heat and leave it for 5 mins.
3.off the stove and let the water cool.
4.wash again with brush in cold water.
there they are! the shiny new silver things.!!!!
this really works. try it.

A brief bath in a silver cleaner fluid like Silver Blue. To reach fine detail you could also scrub the jewelry with a soft old toothbrush, using the silver cleaner fluid. Read instructions and rinse thoroughly. You can buy liquid silver cleaner at hardware stores.

If you are looking for a kind way to do it use the powder stain remover that you put into the wash, not the ones you get for one stain.Just add 1 teaspoon in a cup or such add hot water, leave for approx 10 minutes, and the shine is unbelievable,i use it all the time.
