I've had someone do this before..... just drain the tank, drain the carb (take the bowl off if its a float type carb and drain that out) replace the air filter if theres any oil on it.. and shoot a little gas down the carb, and try to keep it running till it clears up... then clean the sparkplug.

Oil in the tank will not hurt anything. Fill the tank with gas, it may smoke for a time or two. You can also squirt gas directly into the carb to keep it running while the oil cleans its self out of the lines. I dump a little oil in my tanks every winter.

Fill the oil tank with the recommended oil.
Fill the gas tank with gas.
Run the engine. You'll burn the remaining oil out of the tank. It'll smoke for a while, but it will do no harm to the engine.

Put gasoline in the tank, crank the engine once or twice but do not start it, and then drain the gasoline from the carburetor till it's empty. Repeat if necessary with clean gasoline till the gasoline is clean when it comes out. Remove the spark plug and clean the plug of any oil.
The gasoline will help to dissolve the oil and get it out.

It may be hard to start because the carburetor will likely have oil in it. Here is what I would do: put fuel in tank, remove spark plug and spray starter fluid into cylinder ( you buy this at any auto parts store) replace spark plug. Try starting engine , it likely will start then die due to the oil fouling spark plug, if so, clean oil from spark plug and repeat procedure ,once or twice more should clean things and be fine.

Pour gas into it and try and start it. It may smoke for a while but it will clear up before you finish cutting the yard.
