Personally, I feel people can be who they really are inside when they are online. You really see a person's true colors when they have no fear of your reaction. For some in real life, it's easier to be rejected for who they are not than for who they really are.

Thats a good question, really.
I try not to act to different on the internet, but alot of people tend to. Baiscally because that person can't see you and your facial expressions or emotions. So I mean some people may act different online for fun, or maybe the just would like to try a different personality then they usually are.
I mean you shouldn't change your personality at all online or in reality, be who you are.

I act totally different. I'm not afraid to "let my hair down" per se` and act silly or challenge someone. I also like pretending to be in another place and time. I usually do that playing online RPG's and it's a blast.
However, I must say I met my husband online playing gin and he moved from North Carolina to California to be with me. At first I was different, but the more I got to know him, the more I let him see the real me. Best move we both ever made!

I'm pretty much the same on or off line....guess I'm too bad an actress OR just a whoos when it comes to subterfuge, lying, fraudulent ways etc.
Now many of the women I have met via online activity over the years were VERY close to how they seemed online...however, the men I have met had not been truthful in areas like livelihood, and looks

I think to a point they do. In my case I love spell check because in real life I have a very hard time spelling. You don't have to be on the Internet to see "fake" people I see them everywhere I go so I think it is the same on the Internet you get some who are who they are and then you get some who are not. It takes all kinds.
Good Luck!

My internet persona is close to my real one but I find that I am a bit more open. I am very low self esteem and am shy about my looks. However, on the internet no one see's me physically but get to look at the person I really am.

Well in reality, I'm just a quiet person who kinda acts like she's antisocial. I can express myself better on the Internet or any other nonverbal communication. Not sure why though =/

I believe that I'm pretty much the same person on and offline. Most of my friends who are active online are too. I suppose the anonimity does add an element of hightened personality, but minimal in my case, seeing as how I'm a weird crazy person to start with.

My internet persona is closer to my true self than how I act when I'm offline. My true self is very outgoing, crazy, etc., but my real life self finds it very, very, challenging to live up to that. Thus, in real life I'm often shy and inhibited, but when I'm online, I really let my hair down and act like how I am deep down inside.

Personally, I talk and "act" the same on the internet as I do in person. Or as closely as is possible. I don't feel the need to impress anyone, especially on the internet hah.
