And that if I wanted to learn more about them I should read a book. Is this good advise or should I just get a one eyed snake and go with the hands on approach?

Well the one-eyed snake is an elusive creature that lives in dark places, so to study it in the wild would take a lifetime, books on the subject matter are full of pictures but no real content. I would definitely try to capture one of these creatures for a closer study, but you should know this once a one-eyed snake has been in captivity for too long it becomes docile and limp. It does come back to life however if it is fed a steady diet of tuna tacos. If for any reason your one-eyed snake is unresponsive the only treatment is immediate mouth to snake resuscitation. Hope this helps

Remember that if you take matters into your own hands that you are dealing with a "snake"
